International One Health Day Competition

SAVMA & the Virginia Tech One Health Working Group are hosting the second annual International One Health Day Competition at Virginia Tech in honor of International One Health Day. Participants from all graduate programs (DVM, DO, MPH, PhD, and all master's programs) at Virginia Tech can complete in teams of four students, with at least three different programs represented. Teams will develop plans to solve several different outbreak scenarios.

The event "promoting one health: as an integrative approach for life." will be hosted at Anhembi Morumbi University in São Paulo Brazil. The university has around 10.000 students in Medical School, Medical Veterinary, Nurse, Biology, and other Health Science degrees. The concept is to integrate the health science degrees in a series of lectures with the objective to introduce the One Health Concept, Implications for Public Health in Latin America & Globally and how to connect the medical care and One Health in the context of medical and veterinary education.

One Health in Action

Penn Vet’s One Health Club is proud to host the One Health in Action symposium from October 29th to November 3rd, 2018. This symposium provides a unique opportunity for multidisciplinary learning and collaboration between the 12 graduate schools at the University of Pennsylvania. The week consists of lectures and discussions surrounding One Health related topics varying from animal models in research to zoonotic disease. We are excited to showcase the myriad of ways One Health is applied in practice!
