Undergraduate students enrolled in the One Health unit have created communication tools to increase awareness about a variety of One Health topics, including antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic diseases and ecotoxicology. On November 3rd, a conference style presentation session has been organised. Each student group will present their communication tool, who the target audience is, why they chose their particular tool and expected outcomes, for example increased awareness or reduction of the disease in the target group.

The North Queensland Tropical Zoonoses Interest Group was founded on the 3 October at its inaugural meeting comprising medical doctors, veterinarians and related health professionals. It will launch its Facebook Group page on 3 November at the NQ Emergency Animal Disease Refresher Training Workshop Townsville, 3 & 4 November 2018, hosted by Biosecurity Queensland in partnership with Animal Health Australia under the Northern Australia Biosecurity Surveillance (NABS) Program.
