The event “One Health Day Uberlândia 2019” will be the first globally integrated action to discuss the theme of One Health, locally. On this day, professionals from different fields of knowledge will present to the community insights into how this integrative approach can be applied in their work areas. Goals: • Improve human, animal and environmental health and well-being by promoting awareness and understanding of the One Health concept.

The International Symposium on Veterinary Medicine is a biennial professional-scientific event held by the Graduate Program in Veterinary Medicine of the Universidade Federal de Viçosa, Brazil. The main focus of the 2019 meeting is the role of One Health on the theme of bacterial resistance to antimicrobials and the rational use of antimicrobials in Veterinary Medicine. The meeting focus mainly on the following topics: a)What is the true relationship between antimicrobial use in animal production and human health? Are there alternatives?

Objective: The objective of the workshop would be to train students from diverse disciplines to cooperatively analyze complex One Health problems and devise implementable solutions that address health issues in the context of sustainable economic benefits. In this summer school, we´ll address the emergence and re-emergence of infectious diseases, vectors impact and antimicrobial resistance as a consequence of human activities.
