International One Health Day Competition

SAVMA & the Virginia Tech One Health Working Group are hosting the second annual International One Health Day Competition at Virginia Tech in honor of International One Health Day. Participants from all graduate programs (DVM, DO, MPH, PhD, and all master's programs) at Virginia Tech can complete in teams of four students. Each team needs to have at least one veterinary (DVM) or medical (DO/MD) student, one MPH student, and one graduate (MS or PhD, any department). Teams will develop plans to solve several different outbreak scenarios.

6th Annual One Health Symposium: Interfaces - One Health at Borders and Margins

The 6th annual One Health Symposium will explore issues impacting human, animal and ecosystem health at urban/rural interfaces and political borders. Hosted by the One Health Institute and Students for One Health, the daylong symposium will feature expert panels, roundtable discussions, networking and student research projects. The 2019 Calvin Schwabe Lecturership speaker is Christine Kreuder Johnson, professor of epidemiology and director of the One Health Institute's EpiCenter for Disease Dynamics. AMC's One Health Conference: Connecting Human and Veterinary Medicine, A Comparative Approach to Environmental Emergencies

The Animal Medical Center (AMC) is hosting it’s 5th Annual One Health Conference to discuss human and veterinary approaches to environmental emergencies, including topics on heat stroke, burn injuries, anaphylaxis, submersion injuries, and electrical injuries. We are joined by veterinary Emergency & Critical Care specialists from AMC alongside human physicians in Emergency Medicine from Weill Cornell Medical Center and Sollis Health.

VIRTUAL Walk & Wag for One Health 3K

LOHA is excited to announce and invite you to the 1st annual "Walk & Wag for One Health" 3K Fun Run. The event will take place at The Grove at Heritage Square in Sulphur, LA on November 2, 2019 in support of the International One Health Day. The 3K will be open to both humans and their dogs to celebrate One Health Day! It is an effort to highlight the human/animal bond and to raise awareness of One Health- the interrelationship of Human, Animal, and Environmental Health.

Human-Animal Health Fair

We are hosting our second human-animal health fair (street clinic) for people who are either experiencing homelessness or who have recently been experiencing homelessness and their pets. We are offering medical services and health screenings for people, veterinary care for pets, human and pet sanitation supplies and food, as well as access to housing applications and drug and mental health treatment. We partner with both human and animal health agencies.
