One Health has been adopted across disciplines and sectors as a holistic approach to human, animal, and environmental health. Although human health is only one aspect of One Health, human behaviors and activities are cross-cutting factors in its greatest challenges. In this webinar, biological anthropologist Sabrina Sholts will discuss the importance of anthropological perspectives in One Health and, vice versa, the influence and operations of One Health in anthropological research - especially in the wake of COVID-19.

AMC’s 6th Annual One Health Conference: Connecting Human and Veterinary Medicine, A Comparative Approach to the Physical Rehabilitation of Chronic Diseases Over 500 people were in attendance as speakers discussed human and veterinary approaches to the physical rehabilitation of chronic diseases.

Understanding connections between humans, animals, and the environment are key to preventing and effectively stopping infectious disease outbreaks. Within this broad discipline, presenters will discuss the role of environmental factors such as climate change, changing land use and the loss of biodiversity and the role of migration of humans and animals in facilitating the emergence and spread of infectious diseases. Additionally, speakers will highlight the role of global disease surveillance, efforts to prevent outbreaks, and regional as well as global challenges to epidemic preparedness.
