Dr. Kiki is a veterinarian with interrelated experiences in One Health programming, animal health & welfare, research, and nonprofit management. She acquired her DVM degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and her MSc degree in Global Health and Infectious Diseases from the University of Edinburgh, UK. She is the Executive Director of One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI) - a nonprofit that addresses correlated issues of human, animal, and ecosystem health through the One Health approach.

The Hong Kong Wildlife Health Foundation has launched a campaign to raise awareness to the concept of One Health in relation to wildlife and in particular marine mammals. Marine mammals not only ensure the balance of the marine ecosystem but also act as indicators of ocean health. A bilingual English/ Chinese leaflet has been produced. The leaflet focuses on actions to take if encountering a stranded porpoise or dolphin. Leaflets are distributed to veterinary clinics in Hong Kong, as well as being available on the Hong Kong Wildlife Health website.

There is an emerging need for a better understanding of what One Health is all about. To meet this need, on Wednesday, June 30, the One Health Commission, in partnership with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, The Wilson Center, and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, launched the first in a series of One Health in the U.S. webinars — ‘Part 1 - One Health 101: What is All the Fuss?’
