Sharing an Animal Memory is a One Health event taking place at the Regional Psychiatric Centre (RPC) in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on November 6, 2018 to recognize One Health Day. Similar events will take place at 4 other prisons across Canada before the end of the year. The events highlight the novel One Health concept of zooeyia, the inverse of zoonosis; the positive benefit of animals to human health. The RPC event will be an opportunity to bring animals into a carceral environment, both through inmates’ shared memories (e.g., stories, artwork, poetry) and with visiting therapy dogs.
