National One Health Conference in Bern, Switzerland For the first time, experts from several federal offices and cantons came together with internationally recognised specialists to discuss the health challenges posed by the communicable diseases of today and tomorrow and to develop potential solutions. The focus was on current national risks such as Campylobacter bacteria (responsible for gastrointestinal infections in humans), hepatitis E, Legionella and migration of exotic species of mosquito. One Health Students Symposium and Launch of OHCEA MUST Chapter Mbarara

Launch of OHCEA MUST chapter at Mbarara University of Science and Technology. This involved a launch done By the Vice Chancellor of the university. The event was graced by the presence of Dr Gladys Kalema a Veterinary doctor who works with Conservation. Through Public Health ( www.ctph.org) and Deputy Principal of Makerere College Of Veterinary medicine, Animal diseases and Biosafety. This event was held to introduce the students to the concept of One Health and to encourage their involvement after understanding relevance of One Health in their fields of study.

International One Health Day Competition

SAVMA & the Virginia Tech One Health Working Group are hosting the second annual International One Health Day Competition at Virginia Tech in honor of International One Health Day. Participants from all graduate programs (DVM, DO, MPH, PhD, and all master's programs) at Virginia Tech can complete in teams of four students, with at least three different programs represented. Teams will develop plans to solve several different outbreak scenarios.
