The biotechnology community returns to Boston to celebrate 25 years of biotechnology innovation as part of BIO’s annual international convention. BIO 2018 will bring together more than 16,000 attendees from around the world. The convention is scheduled for June 4 -7, 2018. The One Health Day program, on Monday June 4, highlights ground-breaking science, creative partnerships, and innovative technology across BIO’s sections: health, food and agriculture, and industrial and environmental. Our goal is to build upon last year’s inaugural One Health program, beginning with a keynote presentation on the One Health concept for the BIO Convention audience, and then pivoting to a keynote panel discussion on the “business case” for One Health. One Health Day programming will also highlight domestic and international governmental efforts to incorporate a One Health philosophy into policies, consider industry’s role in finding solutions to large global health and environmental challenges, provide insight into U.S. government funding of biodefense, biosecurity, and related research concerns, and identify opportunities for cross-sectional cooperation.
