Go Green! Go One Health!

Michigan State University’s Canadian Studies Center will host activities during the week of International One Health Day from Oct 30 thru Nov 5, 2018. Multidisciplinary partners include on-campus and off-campus connections with veterinary and human medicine, agriculture and natural resources, environmental sciences and policy, social sciences and engineering. These activities will inform and promote the One Health Model for maintaining health, preventing health issues, and addressing health-related problems while understanding the connections among people, animals, and the environment. Our activities will engage students, faculty, and most importantly, community with a Nature Center partnership, a Red Cedar River Cleanup, a research symposium, and conversations with key leaders on One-Health thinking. We will also engage the U.S. Center of Disease Control and Prevention. An evaluation will be taken at each activity and include metrics that demonstrate the impact our efforts have had in illustrating One Health in theory and in practice.
