OHSS Webinar - Anthropology and One Health in Natural History

One Health has been adopted across disciplines and sectors as a holistic approach to human, animal, and environmental health. Although human health is only one aspect of One Health, human behaviors and activities are cross-cutting factors in its greatest challenges. In this webinar, biological anthropologist Sabrina Sholts will discuss the importance of anthropological perspectives in One Health and, vice versa, the influence and operations of One Health in anthropological research - especially in the wake of COVID-19. She will share examples from her study of ancient pathogens and microbiomes using museum collections, as well as her experiences in curating the exhibition Outbreak: Epidemics in a Connected World at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History.
