Welcome to the third annual MCG-GS Savannah Community Engaged Research Conference. Today brings together students, faculty, clinicians, and community partners from Georgia Southern University and the Medical College of Georgia around a central guiding question: How can research improve health in Coastal Georgia? This year’s theme, Bridging Science, Care, and Community in the AI Era, runs through the program, from talks on trust in AI-enabled care to field projects with fishing communities, farm families, firefighters, and nursing home staff.

Get a behind-the-scenes look at careers that connect human, animal, and environmental health, moderated by Dr. Mariah Seater. Join Dr. Michelle Johannsen of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and Dr. Christina (Nina) Hansen, Associate Dean and Attending Veterinarian for the UAF Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Resources Center, as they share a “day in the life” of their work. They’ll talk about their career paths and how their work relates to One Health. Students from all majors are welcome to attend.
