Meru County One Health Harambee

Meru County government is celebrating One Health Week by encouraging community clean-ups and by spreading information about One Health through radio, television and public address systems. Public awareness messages have been prepared on a variety of topics including key priority zoonotic diseases affecting Meru County, such as anthrax, brucellosis, and rabies. Messages on the importance of good hygiene and nutrition, and messages on soil and environmental health are also bein shared. The week will culminate in a One Health Harambee with participation of community health workers and animal health workers. The week-long celebration is being supported by the Gender-Responsive One Health project funded by the Government of Canada.
